Illegal Aliens

When you start to form an opinion about
whether you favor amnesty and open borders,
consider the following:

1. Entering the country without our permission
"is" breaking the law. If someone feels comfortable
breaking one law, are they likely to feel comfortable
breaking other laws?

2. Homeland security confirms that one in twelve illegal
aliens has a criminal record. With over 12 million
illegal aliens, that amounts to more criminals than
existed in the entire Iraqi army walking the streets
of America.

3. Virtually all of these illegal aliens have grown
up in Socialist nations of one degree or another.
They have no concept of how to make the most of
Capitalism. Most don't speak English. Most don't
trust the governments they came from or the rule
of law. Most see protests, both peaceful and violent,
as the only means of forcing their governments to
give them what they want.

Little to no education + socialist upbringing +
no english + lack of understanding of our political
process = permanent underclass of angry individuals

This formula can only lead to the break down of
our Capitalist and free society to the same Socialist
failure they ran from.

The United States is a special place and one that was
highly dependent upon immigrants. The big difference
that shows itself today is the unwillingness or inability
of many illegal aliens to fully assimilate to our way
of life because they see it as an afront to their own
culture.

As Americans, we must insist that people adapt to
our Caplitalist society and reliance on rule of law
if they want to come into the country. They "must"
learn to speak the language of prosperity (English).

The odd thing is that many Americans would be far more
concerned if a neighbor's dog crapped in their yard versus someone
entering the country and sapping our resources and endangering
our way of life. Sad...

My desire to have our borders sealed doesn't make me
the bad guy. The real bad guy(s) are the corrupt governments
of Mexico and other Latin American countries. If they
did their job, people from America would be crossing "their"
borders to get away from the Liberal nut jobs like Harry
Reid, Hillary Clinton, and Nancy Pelosi.

  • I am sympathetic to all the foreign nationals who are in line waiting for a visa, a residency card, or an opportunity to interview with an immigration officer for citizenship approval. I am sympathetic towards the people who stood in line and paid every fee along the way. I am sympathetic towards all the people who OBEYED federal US law and did not succumb to the temptation a fake ID or a fake social security number as a way order to sneak into this country and work illegally. It is hard to understand why all the focus has been on the illegal aliens who really have no voice in the matter of immigration reform. They are not part of our society, since they broke into the US illegally. If you want to talk about people who really have a voice, it is those who have stood in line and followed the law in order to get the opportunity to get citizenship. They broke into our country and decided to ignore our laws. For this reason, they should not have a say over what their fate should be. Instead, the decision should be left to the citizens of this country. I am sick and tired of seeing marches and demonstration of illegal immigrants demanding for rights when you and I know (and the rest of American citizens know) that they have no right. In fact they forfeited their right to be heard the moment they illegally entered our country without any regard for our laws. Groups like LULAC and National Council for La Raza do not advocate for the greater good of the US. If they did advocate for the greater good of the US, they would be looking for ways to strength our borders, denounce Mexico's sinister attempt to keep their own population coming over illegally, and to strengthen immigration laws. I know that any immigration bill that passes the Senate and House will contain an amnesty provision. Our legislators cannot seen to say yes to any really immigration reform that is good to Americans only. For this reason I propose a radical idea. For all the illegal immigrants who are granted pathway for citizenship, we take away their right to vote. You may be asking why such a severe penalty? The answer is simple. Every person who commits a felony or federal offense gets their right to vote taken away. These are citizens who are penalized this way. If we are going to grant illegals citizenship, they need to face a severe consequence. This is as severe as it gets. I believe public opinion will support such a move and recommendation.

  • I am in agreement (in general) with your position vis-a vis illegal immigrants, and have been saying since the middle 70's that the single largest factor in the breakdown of what we know as "American" society is going to be the language factor. Any scientist trained in linguistics, or communications theory, or even (God help me) Noam Chomsky can tell you that ideas, concepts, are not all translatable from one language to the next. The general idea, yes. the "flavor", or specificity of it, not always.
But I digress. The thing I wished to point out to the author is that when someone speaks of "sealing" the borders of the U.S., I fear that they have no real concept of what that might entail. It is a virtual impossibility, even granting super-sophisticated technology, to stop large numbers of crossers. The sheer dimensions of the borders of the U.S. make that obvious. Even that most vociferous of neo-conservative hate-spewers, Newt Gingrich, admitted as much publicly.
Please understand, I served my country in the armed forces, and not as a spoon counter, but rather out on the pointy end of the stick, as an airborne infantryman with the 82nd and 101st Airborne Divisions. I love my country, and detest what I see happening. But we must come up with a much more realistic way of dealing with this problem.

  • First off, thank you for your service. Sincerely...

We most certainly can create sophisticated barriers to prevent large groups of people from crossing the border.

The Israeli wall is not that sophisticated and it has drastically reduced crossings in the area where construction is complete. The Berlin wall is another example.

It can definitely be done if we have the political will.

On a side note, can you post a quote from Newt Gingrich that you would consider "hate spewing"?

I can understand how people might disagree with his positions but hate speech? I've followed Newt for years and have never heard him speak like that.

Ha-ha, you are wrong, the things are much worse, you lack big picture vision, thus you have overlooked one point:
Beilieve it or not, but most of these illegals are under permanent control of the external to US system.
US gov knows it but tolerates it, becauase they, gov folks, are only people.

    Regards
